Yap Heng Lee

Chief Plantation Officer

Mr Yap Heng Lee (Malaysian, age 54) joined GLBHD as the Group General Manager of Indonesia Operation (Plantation Division) on 1 September 2016, and he was re-designated as Chief Plantation Officer effective 1 February 2020.

He was with Genting Plantation Group for 29 years and was based in Indonesia since 1 March 2012 before joining GLBHD. He has vast experience in the plantation sector as he has started his career as Quality Control Grader and gradually made his way to become the Vice President of Genting Plantation in 2015.

He obtained an Executive Diploma in Agriculture and Entrepreneurship from Open University Malaysia in 2009. In 2018, he obtained the Tax Finance AB + e-SPT from University of Indonesia. He is also a Qualified Mediator, accredited by Indonesia Supreme Court in March 2020. In May 2021, he received training related to Corporate Law, Good Corporate Governance (GCG) & CSR Indonesia, and is a Certified Industrial Relations Practitioner (CIRP), accredited by BNSP (Indonesia National Professional Certification Agency).

He was posted for a special project assignment to perform a feasibility study on a new land and also due diligence in Cambodia and Indonesia in 2011. He is currently overseeing the Group’s oil palm operation and Indonesia management.

He has no family relationship with any other directors or substantial shareholders of the Company. There is no conflict of interest with the Company. Within the past 5 years, he has no conviction for offences.             

Tham Kai Ling

Chief Financial Officer

Mr Tham Kai Ling (Malaysia, age 47) was appointed as Chief Financial Officer with effect from 7 August 2023. He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Australia.

He started his career with Messrs Ernst & Young involving in audit and advisory service for oil palm, timber and property development industries. He proceeded to join Genting Plantations Berhad as Internal Auditor focusing in planning and execution of audit plan for both the Plantation and Property Divisions.

He joined GLBHD in 2008 as Accountant focusing on civil and construction before moving into property development to head the Contract Department and Business Development Department. Prior to his appointment as the Chief Financial Officer, he was holding the position of Group Financial Controller.

He has no family relationship with any other directors or substantial shareholders of the Company. There is no conflict of interest with the Company. Within the past 5 years, he has no conviction for offences.
